The Bessey K Body is the original parallel clamp, designed for woodworkers who depend on accurate clamping every time they use it, year after year. The Bessey K Body is for woodworkers who believe "almost" parallel is just not good enough.

Look closely at the workings of a K Body. You will see hardened steel, locking set screws, steel guide rollers and steel anchor pins - the visible part of the mechanism that makes the K Body work. There are also precision internal elements that are not visible. All components are critical to the mechanism which was protected by patent for ten years and is at the heart of the accuracy of the K Body. Without any of them, the K Body would simply not stay parallel … and NO other clamp on the market uses this system to ensure parallelism.

Bessey, which started as a steel mill in 1889, is respected for producing legendary, high quality German steel. The components that make the K Body both accurate and distinct are produced in Bessey's own in-house steel making facilities.

It's the only way this expensive mechanism is affordable on a Bessey clamp. It might also be the reason why you don't see it on any clamp other than a Bessey. We believe any compromise in this design configuration will in turn compromise the dependable accuracy that woodworkers demand from their Bessey K Body.

The Bessey K Body Maxis enables K Body owners to maximize the use of a K Body by turning it into a flexible, vario pivot bench fixture
… a virtual European style tail vise for edge joining and surface planing operations.

The Maxis can be used with any length K Body clamp, (or even an ordinary pipe clamp) for unlimited holding capacity. The positive locking device can be fixed at any angle from 0° - 270° holding the work at the most convenient angle.
