Press Release – GearKlamp GK from BESSEY

Works “big” in a small space

BESSEY is introducing a first of its kind in the world with the GearKlamp GK: the clamp that conveniently masters clamping applications in a perfect way – even in the tightest spaces. This is made possible by a patent pending mechanism that allows the separation of the handle from the spindle and to position it around the rail. For example, the compact BESSEY GearKlamp GK can be skillfully used even in places that were previously difficult or impossible for clamping tools to access.

With the GearKlamp GK, BESSEY once again demonstrates its innovative leadership in the field of manual clamping tools. The special design of the clamp is based on the sound technical know-how of the BESSEY development team, with the aim of making daily work in craft and industry easier.

The GearKlamp GK from BESSEY is much more compact than the classic screw clamps, lever clamps or one-hand clamps because its handle is positioned around the rail. Each turn of the handle transfers the clamping force to the spindle via a mechanism concealed in the sliding arm. This innovative design gives the user key advantages. For one thing, when using the new GearKlamp GK, there are no protruding tool components in cramped working areas for the mechanic to run into and thus damage the workpiece or injure themselves. For another, ergonomic handling and enhanced comfort is guaranteed in every clamping situation as there is no need to contort one’s hand.

With its compact design, the GearKlamp GK achieves a clamping force of up to 2,000 N. BESSEY has equipped the new GearKlamp with a quick-release button for fast movement along the sliding arm. In addition, it has a smoothly-running trapezoidal threaded spindle with swivelling pressure plate that adapts perfectly to the workpiece. Even round, pointed and angular workpieces are held securely with the help of the crossed v-grooves located under the protective cap on the upper section.

Meeting the BESSEY quality promise was also a focus in development. For this reason only high-quality materials are used in the production of the GearKlamp GK. The stable profiled rail is made of tempered, burnished steel. The upper section and the sliding arm’s plastic housing protect the driving mechanism from dust and debris and are made of fibreglass-reinforced polyamide. This makes the GearKlamp also a winning choice in terms of durability.

The new GearKlamp GK from BESSEY is available in four clamping widths: 150 mm (GK15), 300 mm (GK30), 450 mm (GK45) and 600 mm (GK60), each with a throat depth of 60 mm.

At BESSEY, we have a long tradition of producing such innovative, practical product solutions as this. Since the cold drawn steel plant was founded in Stuttgart in 1889, the Bietigheim-Bissingen based company continues to raise the bar in clamping and cutting technology. Press Release – Toggle clamp systainer STC-S-MFT from BESSEY

Everything under control with the mobile workshop

BESSEY toggle clamps are flexible and up to five times faster to operate when compared to conventional models. Mobile workmen, such as assembly technicians, can also benefit from these advantages. BESSEY offers its self-adjusting toggle clamps in a set with suitable adapters for multifunction tables and table clamps in a systainer with a special wood insert.

The systainer has a wood insert with a 20 mm drilled hole integrated into the lid. This allows the stackable storage and transport case to be also used as a small mobile work table. The contents of the systainer – four STC-HH50 horizontal toggle clamps, two STC-IHH25 push/pull clamps, six STC-SET-T20 accessory sets for multifunction table and two GTR12 all-steel table clamps – mean the craftsman has three practical options for fixing a workpiece. The table clamps can be inserted directly into the hole in the lid whereas the two toggle clamp models are each used in conjunction with the adapter.

All clamping devices of the toggle clamp systainer STC-S-MFT can also be used on multifunction tables with a 20 mm hole diameter and counter thickness of at least 19 mm up to a maximum of 25 mm. Festool MFT as well as Sortimo WorkMo fulfil these requirements.

Thanks to the ingenious tool/systainer combination STC-S-MFT, every craftsman can benefit from the numerous advantages of the variable toggle clamps at any time and anywhere. For example, this set includes the ability to clamp different workpiece thicknesses without adjusting the clamping screw manually and with practically the same clamping force – up to five times faster than with conventional clamps. This time saving is made possible by the infinitely variable clamping width of up to 35 mm for horizontal clamps and up to 13 mm for push/pull clamps. But that’s not all. The clamping force of BESSEY toggle clamps can also be individually adjusted to a maximum force of up to 2,500 N by means of an adjusting screw in the joint to suit the workpiece at hand. When the clamp is used in conjunction with a flexible pressure plate with a removable protective cap, fragile materials such as veneered or varnished surfaces can be clamped in a gentle manner.

Press Release – The K Body REVO parallel clamps KRE / KREV from BESSEY

The evolution of the BESSEY parallel clamp: REVO 2.0

The well-established K Body REVO parallel clamp from BESSEY has been refreshed with added power and safety features. It clamps and expands workpieces with fragile surfaces in a powerful yet gentle manner. The range of sophisticated accessories ensures that there is a suitable solution for almost every application.

Powerful and safe:

With up to 8,000 N of clamping force, the new K Body REVO parallel clamp has a powerful grip thanks to its metal-reinforced plastic housing and optimised sliding arm. The double slide protection holds the clamp reliably with the set clamping force and prevents any unintentional slipping of the sliding arm when in the unclamped position. In addition, the innovative K Body REVO parallel clamp design has an ergonomically shaped 2-component plastic handle with an internal hex. This enables you to apply the clamping force in a convenient manner with a maximum tightening torque of 17 Nm.

Precise and gentle:

Like its well-established predecessor, the new K Body REVO parallel clamp KRE is universally applicable - even behind and at the side of the profiled rail. This allows you to clamp in locations that conventional screw clamps are unable to reach. They can even get to grips with pointed and rounded surfaces. Craftsmen enjoy being able to adjust them to the precise setting for corners and stepped edges. The large clamping surfaces, which sit at right angles to the rail, have three removable and glue resistant protective caps. The two detachable workpiece supports can be shifted along the rail to elevate fragile wood surfaces from the rail surface. These prevent the grooved steel rail from making contact with the workpiece.

Fixed and variable:

The K Body REVO parallel clamp KRE is available in clamping widths ranging from 30 cm up to 2.5 m. From one metre clamping width on there is also a vario version available. The variable model, the Vario K Body parallel clamp KREV, is equipped with an infinitely adjustable upper part that can be moved at the press of a button. When it is positioned in the centre of the workpiece, the weight can be well distributed. A tilting of the workpiece can be avoided. Irrespective of whether you choose the variant with the fixed or variable head, both models are equipped with an end stop that can be removed without the need for tools. As a result, removing the sliding arm from the rail and repositioning it for an extension application is very straightforward.

Versatile and well thought out:

The new K Body REVO parallel clamps KRE and KREV are part of a broader clamping concept. The clever accessories are compatible with both the older and newer generation of clamps and pave the way for many other potential applications. For example, by using the KBX extension, two clamps can be cleverly combined in order to increase the clamping width up to a maximum of 5 m. For clamping at non-right angles, the KR-AS tilting adapter is available. It can be easily slid onto the clamping jaws and is infinitely adjustable within a tilting range of 30°. The REVO

body clamp has a practical extra feature for clamping frames: the variable frame press KP. It consists of four 90° angles. It can be used to custom-adjust the clamping pressure by inserting two clamps per corner. Finally, the TK6 table clamps can be used to easily secure the clamps and their workpiece contact surfaces to a workbench.

Press Release – The accessory for toggle clamps STC from BESSEY

BESSEY toggle clamps for use on multifunction tables

BESSEY’s self-adjusting toggle clamps are flexible and up to five times faster to operate when compared to conventional models. Now, BESSEY has found a way to bring these benefits to the multifunction table. Thanks to a special adapter, it is possible to use BESSEY toggle clamps on multifunction tables with 20 mm hole diameters such as Festool MFT and Sortimo WorkMo.

The toggle clamp adapter STC-SET-T20 can be used together with the larger versions of BESSEY toggle clamps that have horizontal base plates and a borehole in the centre of the base plate. These include the horizontal toggle clamps STC-HH50 and STC-HH70, the vertical toggle clamp STC-VH50 and the push/pull clamp STC-IHH25.

The three-part accessory can be assembled in a few simple steps: First, the clamp lever is opened to 45° in order to insert the screw through the lever mechanism and the base plate. The Allen key is then positioned and the locking post is threaded in from below; hand tighten and then complete tightening using the Allen key. With this adapter, the clamp can be used on multifunction tables with a 20 mm hole diameter and a surface thickness between 19 mm (minimum) and 25 mm (maximum). Finally, the toggle clamp is secured from below using the locking knob to firmly attach to the table.

With this clever accessory you are able to take advantage of the numerous benefits of BESSEY toggle clamps on multifunction tables. For example, you have the ability to clamp different workpiece thicknesses without adjusting the clamping screw manually and with practically the same clamping force. What’s more, you can do this up to five times faster than with conventional clamps. This time saving is made possible by the infinitely variable clamping width of up to 35 mm on horizontal and vertical clamps and up to 13 mm on a push/pull clamp. But that’s not all. The clamping force of BESSEY toggle clamps can be adjusted to a maximum force of 2,500 N without the use of tools to suit the workpiece at hand. When the clamp is used in conjunction with a flexible pressure plate with a removable protective cap, fragile materials such as veneered or lacquered surfaces can be clamped in a gentle manner.

All BESSEY toggle clamps that are suitable for use on multifunction tables can also be purchased together with an adapter as a set.

Press Release – The telescopic drywall support ST from BESSEY

Securely fixes and supports during dry construction

As a specialist for manual clamping tools, BESSEY now also offers a solution for securing a wide variety of building materials on the ceiling. The flexible but stable ST telescopic drywall support serves as a helping “extra hand” for safe one-man assembly during dry construction. It has a GS mark for tested safety, is available in three sizes and can handle up to 60 kilograms.

The stable but flexible construction of the new ST telescopic drywall support holds a wide variety of building materials, such as plasterboard, wooden boards, panels, roof battens or metal bars. Even thin construction foils can be quickly, easily and securely fixed to a dust protection wall. The largest version of the BESSEY telescopic drywall support can be extended up to 2.90 metres. The base plates with a size of 8.5 x 6.5 cm have a swivel range of -45° to +45°. This means it can also be used on slopes. A secure grip – even on sensitive surfaces and maximum load – is ensured by the rubberised contact surfaces. The extremely stable steel tube construction of the BESSEY ST telescopic drywall support is resilient up to a maximum of 60 kilograms. An unintentional retraction of the inner tube is prevented by locking the release button.

Easy, quick and safe handling

Before using the ST telescopic drywall support, make sure that the locking pin on the release button is moved to the left. Only then can the telescopic inner pipe for the presetting be pulled out and locked at the required length. Pushing the locking pin to the right again blocks the release button and secures the inner pipe. Now turn the preset ceiling bracket clockwise using the foam handle until the upper contact surface makes full contact with the work piece and fix it securely in place. To release, turn the bracket anti-clockwise again. As soon as the locking pin has been pushed to the left, the release button can be actuated and the inner pipe retracted. Done!

The ST telescopic drywall support is available in three sizes: The ST125 with an adjustment path of 75 to 125 cm as well as the ST250 with an adjustment path of 145 to 250 cm have a load limit of 60 kg. The ST290 version with an adjustment path of 160 to 290 cm can be loaded with a maximum of up to 50 kg.

Press Release – The clamping elements for workbenches TW from BESSEY

Clamp on workbenches securely and variably

In conjunction with a special workbench adapter, which is available in 5 sizes, BESSEY clamping elements of the series TW16 and TWV16 can be used on any workbench with a hole system.

This is made possible by the TW16AW workbench adapter. It is available in five sizes and in just a few moments the unit can be used to adapt BESSEY clamping elements from the TWV and TW range for 16 mm matrix hole systems. It is therefore possible to insert the clamping elements in all conventional workbenches with a 19 mm (3/4"), 20 mm (13/16"), 22 mm (7/8"), 25.4 mm (1") and 30 mm (1 3/16") insert hole diameter. If other hole systems are to be used, it is simply necessary to exchange the adapter socket bolt.

The TWV and TW are available in three handle variants: a high-quality 2-component plastic handle, tommy bar or lever handle. Particularly practical for rapid clamping is the model with the lever handle, which utilises the lever's natural force. The unit’s latching mechanism enables quick and precise clamping. The clamp is quickly and safely secured with a single action. The advantages of the lever handle come to the fore in particular when numerous holding points are necessary in processing long work pieces because it enables time-saving, ergonomic and fatigue-free work. Furthermore, the extremely wear-resistant cam guarantees a long service life. The two other handle versions also impress with their convenient functionality. The clamping element with 2-component plastic handle and the model with tommy bar each function with a smooth-running trapezoidal threaded spindle and tool-free pressure plate replacement. Thanks to a special surface coating, the spindle is particularly smooth-running, and does not tilt.

All three handle variants of the BESSEY clamping elements for workbenches are available with a fixed and variable throat depth. The model designation TW is applied to the clamping tools with a fixed throat depth of 100 mm, while the models in the TWV range exhibit a variable throat length of between 30 and 150 mm.

Press Release – The clamping elements for welding tables TW from BESSEY

BESSEY brings its experience to the table

BESSEY has now transferred its experience of clamping tools amassed over the course of many decades into the development of its TW clamping elements for matrix welding tables with 28 and 16 mm holes. It offers a comprehensive range of practical aids, with multiple uses, to facilitate your day to day work.

When introducing the TW range, BESSEY concentrated on the essentials and therefore covers a wide range of application situations and enables individual clamping with pinpoint accuracy:

BESSEY provides both the standard clamping elements TW, with a fixed throat depth, and TWV, with a variable throat depth, for tables with a 28mm and a 16mm hole system. Both series are characterised by a tempered profile and the sliding arm for sprung and elastic clamping, as well as the option to choose from three handle variants.

The TWM28 clamping element has a heat-resistant special pressure plate with sintered steel insert, which can be tilted by up to 35°. On the TW28GRS gripping arm variant, the spindle is located on the outside, which enables free access to the work area among other things.

Regardless of whether the workpieces are round, oval or square, the TWVAD Vario table clamping attachments are the perfect aids. This is because they can be infinitely adjusted to the workpiece being welded, from 60° internal to 60° external. There are 3 versions: with pins for insertion into tables with 28mm holes or 16mm holes or without pin for variable movement on the table, for example to weld frames.

Thanks to the TWA-STC adapter and the suitable TWX extension, even BESSEY toggle clamps with horizontal base plates can be used on welding tables with 28mm and 16mm holes.

Angular and horizontal clamping tasks can also be mastered. The TW28AV tilting adapter is suitable for this in conjunction with the TW28X. It has a spindle that can be tilted infinitely through a tilting range of -52° to +52°.

If you are currently working with BESSEY BAS, BSN, GRS or BSG work table clamps, these can also be used on welding tables with 28mm holes. The TW28HO attachment makes it possible: by simply screwing it into the hole on the bottom of the work table clamp.

At BESSEY, we have a long tradition of producing such innovative, practical product solutions as this. Since the cold drawn steel plant was founded in Stuttgart in 1889, the Bietigheim-Bissingen based company continues to raise the bar in clamping and cutting technology. Press Release – Erdi compound leverage snips D39ASS from BESSEY

Low-fatigue continuous cutting

With the Erdi D39ASS, BESSEY is bringing an entirely new generation of compound leverage shape and straight cutting snips to the market for the sheet metalworking industry. These sheet metal snips enable faster and more precise work with easier operation. Also innovative in the snips segment is the sintered steel insert developed in-house. It greatly reduces friction in the joint area, which makes the snips extremely smooth running and wear-resistant.

The innovative design of the Erdi Ideal snips is setting benchmarks in design and construction engineering. BESSEY has reduced the handle opening angle, so that the user can utilise the entire cutting length with every cut. Double compound leverage additionally reduces the force required.

The new shape and straight cutting snips from BESSEY offer the user significant product advantages when it comes to quality. The snips have an extremely robust joint area which is complemented by a newly developed insert produced from sintered steel. This feature is entirely unique in the snips segment and, reduces friction in the joint area. As a result, the D39ASS is both smooth running and extremely wear-resistant. Furthermore, the joint area is securely bolted with a stable stud bolt. A stainless steel cover plate, fitted over the joint, lends the sheet metal snips their futuristic appearance and also protects the spring located beneath it, which is installed in the housing and is maintenance-free.

With a total length of 230 mm and a cutting length of 30 mm, the new Erdi shape and straight cutting snips are extremely compact and convenient to use. The extremely compact cutter head with partially countersunk head screw connection is a key design feature of the D39ASS. The compact shape permits high-precision cutting of curves and the tightest of radii, while also being very effective at straight cuts – whether it is at the edge of the sheet or in the centre of the panel. Because the stainless steel cutter has a special hardness rating 61 HRC, the Erdi D39ASS can cut effortlessly and precisely through sheets up to 1.2 mm thick. A latch positioned centrally on the top handle guarantees that right and left-handed users can use the snips with ease, without a change in grip.

The new Erdi Ideal snips from BESSEY are used in heating, air-conditioning and dry construction works, and by numerous other trades. They are designed for straight and curved cuts, and are available as right and left-cutting models from specialist dealers.
